Cirque Du Soleil's Grand Chapteau has utilized screw pilesfor temporary installations in Australia and Singapore. The screw pile can be removed easily and the public grounds returned to their natural state at the end of the Cirque Du Soleil's Program.

Screw piles can then be reinstalled at the next location of Cirque Du Soleil's show.

Commercial

Instant Screw Piles can be used for major construction projects including commercial projects and bridges. Piles can be installed in rough terrain without the need for special access or earthworks.

Screw piles can be installed up to load capacities of 150 tonnes and with lengths of up to 30 metres. This makes them extremely versatile in a whole range of commercial construction projects. Screw piles are applicable for use in both cohesion less soils and cohesive soils. One advantage of screw piles are that the excavator based pile installation rigs offer lower rates of procurement compared to specialised traditional piling rigs.

Traditional piling rigs can be very expensive to purchase and operate because of the unique nature of their applications. Screw piles however can beinstalled from excavator based equipment which in addition to installing screw piles, can be used for all the purpose built applications that an excavator would be used for. This results in much lower site establishment and operating costs for the equipment and therefore has a benefit of lowering the total installation price. The rates of production and installation of screw piles also exceed the installation rate of other piling methods. Screw piles are fabricated in a quality controlled factory environment. This results in the raw product (fabricated screw piles) being of very high quality. The added advantage of vibration free piling is applicable on commercial building sites where the site may be surrounded by sensitive and inflexible structures. In this case, a piling system which may cause vibration, may increase the risk of damage to adjacent buildings and could possible initiate litigation between the building owners and piling contractor.

Tilt Up Construction

Tilt up construction methods is becoming widely used because of the quality control measures that can be applied compared to off-form concrete construction. In a similar manner to tilt up construction screw piles are manufactured off site in a quality controlled factory environment and are brought to site and installed under supervised conditions. This can result in a high quality piling solution for the project. Tilt up construction by its very nature can result in lower construction times compared to more traditional methods of construction. Consistent with this, screw piles provide an extremely fast piling solution and can greatly enhance the speed of construction.

Industrial

Screw piles can be used in industrial applications where vibration sensitive areas are being used. In such cases screw piles can be installed in environments where the necessity to shut down an operating plant because of the impact of vibration on operating equipment is not required. Screw piles generally used about 8% of concrete as compared to a traditional pile of the same load capacity.
