To stabilise the retaining wall tonnes of rail ballast were placed against the base of the embankment, to prevent further movement, and half of the road above it was blocking off.

Instant Screw Piling devised a procedure for cutting holes in the existing shotcrete wall, installing screw piles, tensioning them, and trying them in to the (repaired) shotcrete wall.

Remote locations only further demonstrate the benefits of screw in piles in new or remedial work on pipelines. The installation of piles, fabrication of supports and corrosion protection can be completed in a single pass at a fraction of the cost of concrete construction.

As previously noted the speed of installation of screw piles enables the pipeline supports to be installed rapidly. Typically, the piling rig is followed up with mobile welding equipment. The head of the pile is connected to the pipeline either directly by welding or via a pipe support cradle. The pile supports can be visually inspected to monitor the effect of any atmospheric corrosion and protection methods can be affectively employed.
